Hope you all had a great bank holiday weekend? This is my latest my week in pictures.
I took a potter into town and spotted the Kiehl’s van!
I popped over to TK Maxx which I have been loving for the past few months! I picked up some more Ciaté nail varnishes, I’ve already got the nude colour and blogged about it here.
How cute is the mini set?! The normal sized varnishes were £4.99 each and the set was £7.99 so I couldn’t not get them. My previous Olivia varnishes I’ve loved as they last a reasonable time and have a lovely glossy finish.
Tuesday I went to Marmalade as part of a series of events following the seven deadly sins theme with Bitters ‘n’ Twisted. This was part four for envy and I was kindly invited by Brumderland who couldn’t have made me feel more welcome. I had to say the manager and his staff were also really helpful when I was asking endless questions.
The cocktails we were treated to all tasted and looked amazing. My favourite being Captain Ahab’s Grog which was made with ginger preserve, Brugal Dry Spiced rum, apricot liqueur, plum bitters, lime and pomegranate juice!
Now onto the food…presentation wise everything was spot on and the taste also mirrored this. There is something for everyone as there are dishes suitable to vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters. I don’t have any dietary requirements however my favourite dish has to be the mushroom pate topped with caramelised onions- so tasty! I can’t recommend trying out the drinks and food here enough.
Later on in the week I went to the VIP night with Bloggers Parlour to The Body Shop where we tried out new products and made our own cocktails…
After cocktails a few of us were crazy hungry so headed over to Grand Central for some well deserved food!
We decided to go to Tapas Revolution on recommendation from another blogger who writes The Ting Thing. I went for piquillos rellenos de bacalao which was gratin sweet red peppers filled with creamy cod béchamel, calamares fritos (calamari) and toasted bread topped with garlic, tomato and olive oil. I love tapas and can’t believe I’ve not been here before! However I will be returning now I’ve tried it.
I started to flag towards the weekend so needed a pick me up.
So my blender came in handy when I decided a blueberry smoothie was what I required. This is literally blueberry, ice and sugar. I had this as my lunch and it was surprisingly filling if I’m honest and tasted so clean and fresh.
Saturday of course called for my usual…a health kick from Harvey Nichols.
This is a Doctor Beet and literally tasted of pure beetroot so made me feel very healthy whilst drinking it. Of course I had a side order latte because I’m a caffeine addict and make no effort to hide this.
So that was my hectic week! Tomorrow I’m trying out The Stable for pizza making and cider tasting so I’ll update you on how that goes.
