So it’s holiday time for me this week! I can’t wait for some sunshine and cocktails…I always worry I’m going to forget something though so thought I’d do a full list of what to pack in your hand luggage.
Firstly do make sure your bag is not too big. I’ve seen people with big wheel on cases that unfortunately haven’t checked the sizes allowed. There are usually weight restrictions but to be honest who wants to carry more than 5kg anyway.
- Charger/ s
- Plug adapters
- Battery pack or two
- Purse -with local currency & Sterling
- Any none liquid makeup
- Large scarf
- Eye mask
- Important papers like insurance, travel details and tickets
- Cosy socks
- Chewing gum
- Hair ties
- Sanitary items
- None metal nail file
- Liquid bag
- Padlocks (For suitcase if you like to lock it)
I know that looks like a lot but I think along the lines of what if my suitcase goes missing..You don’t need to include your makeup but have you seen how a suitcase is thrown around? I’d be so upset if anything got broken.
I always pack a large scarf as it’s great for evenings and to use as a blanket while flying.I sort my liquids into a clear small toiletry bag that I know will fit in one of those annoying plastic bags before I fly. No one wants to be the person holding up others at security do they?
This is what I put in my liquids bag:
- Wet wipes
- Antibacterial gel
- Lip balm
- Mini perfume
- Multi purpose cream
- Liquid makeup (includes lipsticks and creams)
- Eye drops
Antibacterial gel is a must for me as the clean up crew don’t get long between flights. You also just never know when you’ll need wet wipes so they are always handy to have. I try to pack a good moisturiser that can be used all over my face and hands because your skin can get dehydrated (drink water rather than alcohol if you can as well lovelies).
Mini perfumes are great to feel a bit nicer after a flight but spray once you leave so others don’t have to sit in a cloud of your favourite scent.
CoverFX drops in my moisturiser (50 is close to my foundation shade) make me feel slightly more human after flying. Something like Dew The Hoola works the same.
If I’m going long haul I’ll pack a toothbrush and some paste but this time it’s only 4 hours so chewing gum will be fine.
Lastly if you take medication always try to pack them in your hand luggage just in case.
When I did a holiday with just hand luggage I basically packed all this plus clothes and deodorant.
Is there anything you always pack when thinking about what to pack in your hand luggage that I have missed?
