So John Lewis have just had their gift with two purchases offer on which you may have seen on my Facebook page. One item has to be either skincare or foundation and the second could be anything from the brand. I ordered over the phone as in store had run out of my shade and I needed more Estée Lauder Double Wear.
Online wasn’t an option as strangely you had to buy predetermined bundles (my shade not included). However I had no problems with my phone order so massive thank you to them for that.

The first product I decided to buy was the Estée Lauder Double Wear as its truly my holy grail foundation. It literally does not budge all day which I think helps my makeup stay put as well. The second product was the Estée Lauder makeup brush cleaner because I’ve been wanting to try this out.
Both were also price matched so cheaper than usual! Estée Lauder Double Wear is usually around £31 and the cleaner is usually around £12. So I don’t think the Estée Lauder Double Wear needs any introduction as most people have heard of it. I have normal skin and find its perfect for my skin. Because it does not shift easily it does need taking off properly and throughly. You’ll find if you just use a makeup wipe it won’t all come off so I have warned you. It’s a double cleanse kind of product. I do find that Take It Away works really well at cleansing it away properly and easily and as it is aimed at longwear makeup that makes sense.
Here’s a few swatches of shades I’ve had before. Cashew is my shade when I haven’t been on holiday and Henna is normally my post holiday go to. These are swatched on my inner arm so of course don’t look like they match my skin tone. I assure you Cashew does match and I don’t walk around with a foundation tide mark on my face! I tend to apply this with a beauty blender and don’t find it too heavy.
Moving onto the brush cleaner which is a massive 235ml. It did take my double wear off my brushes and beauty blender which is something some cleaners struggle with. I normally use Dr Bronner which is about £8.99 for 473ml. Whilst I like the Estée Lauder brush cleaner I think I’ll go back to Dr Bronner as I love the smell of it and it seems to do the same job. I personally use the almond Dr Bronner but you can get a few different variations and it’s organic as well as being made from fair trade ingredients. It’s easily bought at places like Holland and Barrett.
